Who we are

This website, www.stanleyonah.com, is run by Stanley Onah ("the site owner"). Stanley Onah is the data controller responsible for your personal information.

What information I collect

Personal information is collected only where you choose to provide it, or where it is needed to run the site. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

  • Contact details — your name and email address (and anything else you include) when you use the contact form or send an email.

  • Mailing list — your name and email address if you sign up to receive updates.

  • Order details — your name, delivery address, email and order information if you buy a print or artwork. Payment card details are handled directly by the payment provider and are not stored by Stanley Onah.

  • Usage data — basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you visit, collected through analytics. See Cookies and analytics below.

How I use your information

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), a lawful basis is needed to use your personal information. Your information is used to:

  • Respond to messages and enquiries — based on a legitimate interest in replying to people who make contact.

  • Send updates — only where you have given consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by email.

  • Process and deliver orders — to perform the contract when you buy.

  • Keep the site secure and understand how it is used — based on a legitimate interest in running and improving the website.

Your information will not be used for anything else without you being told first.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies and similar technologies to help it work properly and to see how visitors use it. Squarespace Analytics is used to collect anonymous statistics about visits.

Non-essential cookies can be accepted or rejected through the banner shown on your first visit, and cookies can be controlled or deleted through your browser settings at any time.

Sharing your information

Your personal information is never sold. It is shared only with trusted service providers who help run the site, which fall under Squarespace services. These providers process your information only on the site owner's instructions.

Where a provider stores data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards for international transfers apply. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long I keep your information

Information is kept only for as long as it is needed:

  • Enquiries — kept while you are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.

  • Mailing list — kept until you unsubscribe.

  • Orders — kept for as long as needed to fulfil the order and to meet legal or accounting obligations (usually 6 years).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information held about you;

  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;

  • ask for your information to be deleted;

  • object to, or ask for a restriction on, how your information is used;

  • withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis being relied on.
