Stanley Emeka Onah (b.1984) is a British-Nigerian painter based in London, UK. He paints because a well-made image can do many things. It can convey ideas, carry contradiction, hold tension and even plant ideas for the viewer to unfold at a later time. His work marries figuration and expressionism, built around colour and texture, and tends to shift back and forth on the spectrum of personal and universal themes. He came to painting later in life and has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, held several solo shows, and has work held in private collections.
